Bigger Than Jesus: Magnetic North
January 22, 2006
Behold! It is coming soon.
Magnetic North, Canada's premier English
theatre festival will be descending on St. John's in June.
It is the mandate of the festival to showcase the
finest in contemporary Canadian theatre.
It will be the first time, since its establishment in 2002,
that the festival has headed east of Ottawa and I, for one, am excited.
The only show announced, so nearly as I can tell,
is Rick Miller's Bigger Than Jesus which looks cool -- I figure
any religious satire that features a Beatles reference, a Simpsons Pez dispenser
and a poke at Andrew Lloyd Webber is, at least, promising.
I'm checking it out for sure.

I don't need...
last names to know who Debbie and Toni-Marie are and I can find my way from Happy Adventure to Misery Point in the fog. My morning comes a half hour earlier and any day without 'RDF' is good. I've seen a mummer, tasted toutons and the image conjured by the word Dildo might be different for me than you because I'm a product of this place.
