Bourgeoisie Respectability?
January 8, 2006
Only a "square arse" would fail
to appreciate the warm-hearted pleasure
that is Hatching, Matching & Dispatching...
So says Stephen Cole in a glowing review
of Hatching, Matching & Dispatching on CBC.CA.
Mmm... I don't know.
I like the series but I can appreciate
how it might not be everyone's cup of tea
and I would go as far as saying detractors are
squares simply because they don't enjoy black humour.
Nor would I suggest that Newfoundlanders, due to the Texas Tea,
have finally been afflicted by bourgeoisie respectability as Cole wonders...
chiefly because I'd never be pretentious enough suggest such a thing.

I don't need...
last names to know who Debbie and Toni-Marie are and I can find my way from Happy Adventure to Misery Point in the fog. My morning comes a half hour earlier and any day without 'RDF' is good. I've seen a mummer, tasted toutons and the image conjured by the word Dildo might be different for me than you because I'm a product of this place.
