NUFOR: Newfoundland UFO Reports
January 19, 2006
We are not alone... or maybe we are, I don't know but some of my fellow
Newfoundlanders are a little more invested in the whole debate than I am
and they've set up NUFOR -- the Newfoundland UFO Research website.
Basically it's a place where you can read about local close encounters
and report any encounters, of an extra-terrestrial nature, that you might experience.
Their library of alien stories is not as extensive as you might imagine
as it turns out Newfoundlanders don't see as many alien space crafts
as, well, we should... at least according HBBC UFO Research.
Maybe we need to launch a new tourism campaign to increase our take
of the extra-terrestrial market, perhaps change the name of
Jellybean Row to Reece's Pieces Road? It could work.
Then again, maybe we simply need to coax our space visitors up from underground.
An excerpt from this book claims there is an underground alien base
in an abandoned mine Labrador -- we may already be the alien Club Med
and not even know it. I can feel it, there's money to be made here...
if only in a Rare Birds sort of way.

And I thought this was a guaranteed "comment getter". Oh well, there's this.

Ah well,
if I've convinced one person that
the extra-terrestrial tourist
market is worth seeking
I'm happy. - At Saturday, January 21, 2006 8:40:00 AM, Larry Hatch said...

Some people take UFO sightings quite seriously, provided the sillier stuff is left aside.
Please check this map of UFO sightings in Newfoundland / Labrador.
http://www.larryhatch.net/ECANADA.html
It comes from the *U* UFO Database, a serious long-term study of filtered UFO reports.
Thanks. -Larry Hatch - At Saturday, January 21, 2006 8:44:00 AM, Robert said...

I forgot something!
I drove my 1979 Olds all the way to St. Johns in 1985. Friendliest people I ever met in all of North America.
There was no need for tourist gimmicks like UFO hooplah. It was the east end of the longest paved road in the world, and that was enough for me.
That same Olds just finally died, with just short of 500,000 miles on it. May it rust in peace.
If you want a tourist gimmick, try a nice stone monument to the East end of the Trans-Canada Highway. Use native stone and put a small explanatory brass plaque on it. -Larry Hatch - At Saturday, January 21, 2006 9:04:00 AM, Robert said...

There is a marker,
and actually a stadium
near there these days.
And the UFO tourist thing
is all in jest -- there are lots of
reasons to visit Newfoundland,
no gimmicks needed. - At Monday, March 12, 2007 6:26:00 PM, said...

Hey,
Nice site! I witnessed something HIGHLY unusual just outside of Corner Brook in 1999. I've tried to forget about it but it still bothers me. I'll love to know if the two other people in the area fishing saw or heard anything. Anyway, get in touch if you're interested... - At Monday, March 12, 2007 6:29:00 PM, said...

I don't need...
last names to know who Debbie and Toni-Marie are and I can find my way from Happy Adventure to Misery Point in the fog. My morning comes a half hour earlier and any day without 'RDF' is good. I've seen a mummer, tasted toutons and the image conjured by the word Dildo might be different for me than you because I'm a product of this place.
